As some of you may be aware but Hazelwood Pondage is closed and we Need to get this out and about, we want to stay on the Pond.

Yesterday in Parliament I asked the State Government to do all it could to reopen Hazelwood Pondage.

And this morning I was joined by a number of local residents, Latrobe Valley Yacht Club members, "Sailability" participants, community association members, business representatives, tourists and caravan park residents to collectively express our desire to reopen and retain Hazelwood Pondage and its facilities.

This is an iconic feature of our local community that has provided so much enjoyment for so many people and families over a period of decades. To simply let it close without exploring all possible options of it reopening would be a crying shame to say the least.

In light of this a petition has now been established for community members to sign and so we can send the strongest of messages to the Victorian State Government that we want our pondage reopened.

Hard copy petitions are available through my office and an online petition is also enclosed in the link below
